![]() ![]() We’re going setup a component which will interop with the following JavaScript function. Let’s look at an example of how we can use them to call a JavaScript function. Downcast is a powerful and highly customizable podcast app, and it separates all of the ways that you can add a podcast to your collection. Now we have covered the tools available to us. How to manually add a podcast in Downcast. How to call a JavaScript function from C# This will not work if you’re using Blazor Server. I can’t stress this enough, only use IJSInProcessRuntime when using Blazor WebAssembly. CarPlay - Fixes syncing issue when Downcast isnt running and is launched directly from CarPlay. Void InvokeVoid(string identifier, params object args) T Invoke(string identifier, params object args) This interface offers us the same two methods, only this time they are synchronous. If you have client-side only scenarios where you need to invoke a JavaScript call synchronously, then you have the ability to downcast IJSRuntime to IJSInProcessRuntime. Before Swift 5.8 that would have led to the error message, Collection downcast in cast pattern is not implemented use an explicit downcast to Dog instead. This is important because if you want your code to work in both client-side and server-side Blazor then all JS interop calls must be asynchronous due to the SignalR connection used by server-side Blazor. You’ll have noticed that both methods are async. Just as with InvokeAsync, the first argument is the function we want to call and the second allows us to pass in various arguments. Eyes downcast, maintaining little contact. The second is InvokeVoidAsync and as you can probably tell, we use this when we want to call a JavaScript function that doesn’t return anything. Its a valuable form of feedback, but it can easily be missed if youre not aware of what to look out for. If you have any parameters you need to pass to the JavaScript function, you can do so using the second argument. This identifier is relative to the window object, so if you wanted to call you would pass in ```. It takes a string, identifier, which is the identifier for the function to call. The first is InvokeAsync, we use this when we are expecting the JavaScript function we’re calling to return something to us. ValueTask InvokeVoidAsync(string identifier, params object args) ValueTask InvokeAsync(string identifier, params object args) It gives us 2 methods we can use to call JavaScript functions. This abstraction is our gateway into the JavaScript world. Because it was static it made the behaviour extremely unpredictable so the team has now removed this static implementation and developers can only use an injected instance of IJSRuntime. ![]() However, when running Blazor Server this caused some serious problems. This worked fine when using Blazor WebAssembly as the app was running in the local browser and there was no state shared with anyone else. This was a static version of the JSRuntime and avoided the need to inject anything into components or services. Historically, developers could execute their calls to JavaScript using JSRuntime.Current. JSRuntime.Static is goneīefore we go any further, I want to point out a recent change in the way JS interop works. We can even get JavaScript functions to make calls into our C# code. Future Perfect Continuous Tense He/She/It will/shall have been downcasting. ![]() The app also has features such as auto-downloading, browsing and downloading older podcast episodes, and auto-updating podcast feeds based on a schedule. You/We/They will/shall have downcast or downcasted. It allows users to search, subscribe to, and download audio and video podcasts, as well as manually subscribe to podcasts via URL. NET code alone, we can use the IJSRuntime abstraction to make calls into JavaScript functions. Downcast is a podcast app that is now available for OS X. ![]() If you’re running server-side Blazor then you don’t even have WebAssembly as an option. There are still a lot of things WebAssembly just can’t do, most notably DOM manipulation. While WebAssembly has the potential to end our reliance on JavaScript, JavaScript is not going away anytime soon. ![]() ![]() ![]() The in-game settings now allow you to do this with enough depth. If you want your car to reach maximum turning before you push the stick all the way (or your controller is broken and the stick can't register max input), start reducing the amount of saturation.Īll of these adjustments can be tested out of the track by going into the "INPUT REPORTING" menu on the previous page.ĪTTENTION This section is no longer necessary. The car will only reach maximum turning if you turn your stick all the way. Having it set to the highest value means it will be a 1:1 ratio to your input. ![]() Steering Saturation - This is how much you need to move the stick to reach maximum turning. If you see that the car is turning by itself, set this higher until the car turns only when you want it to. The higher this is set, the more the stick will have to be moved for the car to start reacting to your input. Steering Deadzone - This should be used to remove stick drift. This will not affect Steering Saturation (explained later). If you feel like your cars turns too much when you slightly move the stick, set the linearity lower (left), if you feel like your cars turn too little when you slightly move the stick, set the linearity higher (right) More to the right = More sensitive at lower amounts of input (Example: 25% of stick input = 35% seen in game) More to the left = Less sensitive at lower amounts of input (Example: 25% of stick input = 10% seen in game) Steering Linearity - This will change your input's curve sensitivity. This guide will only scrape the surface of what this tool can do, but it will show you how to bypass the lack of options in some games, in terms of setting up your gamepad's analog sticks' sensitivity and deadzones. Unfortunately this won't make the steering faster, or slower, this is only to help you fine tune your input for you to feel more in control of the car.Īs for the Steam Controller Support, it goes beyond just the Steam Controller itself, it actually supports basically any controller that Windows, and maybe even Mac or Linux, recognizes as a game controller. Note that the tone call returns immediately-almost like an asynchronous call in a multi-threaded program. The library also offers a convenience method that enables you to specify how long to play a tone in milliseconds: tone(pin, frequency, duration). You simply call tone(pin, frequency) with the pin number and a frequency (the minimum frequency is 31Hz) and a square wave with the given frequency is generated on the pin. While tone cannot generate sinusoidal waves like a DAC, it does produce square waves at specific frequencies, which can be used to actuate speakers and piezo buzzers. Well, it’s fine if you just want to produce a tone at 490Hz or 980Hz but what about other frequencies? The Arduino tone libraryīrett Hagman created the tone library to address this problem, which is now part of the core Arduino library. And this fixed frequency waveform is not helpful for generating pitch-controllable tones. When you write an 8-bit value (0-255) to analogWrite, this changes the duty cycle of the waveform, not the frequency. Indeed, when we use analogWrite, the Arduino produces a square wave of a fixed frequency-490Hz on most PWM pins but the Uno can produce double that (980Hz) on Pins 5 and 6 (see docs). Instead, these microcontrollers produce square voltage waves. The Arduino Uno and Leonardo microcontrollers do not. Some microcontrollers, like the Arduino Due, have DACs built in. To play ear-pleasing, high-frequency waveforms with a microcontroller, you need a digital-to-analog converter (DAC). The website defaults to muted volume, so press the letter ‘m’ to unmute once the website loads (or use the interactive sound volume widget). If you’re not familiar with sound waveforms and the differences between sinusoidal, triangle, and square waves-or even if you are-I recommend this short, interactive guide by Josh Comueau called “ Let’s Learn About Waveforms.” Make sure to have your sound on. The higher the vibration frequency, the higher the pitch. The speed of these vibrations (in cycles per second or Hertz) determines the pitch. Sound waves are vibrations in air pressure. We are going to build input circuits using the microcontroller’s own internal pull-up resistors, so our material list includes only four things (well, and wires of course!): If the Tinkercad simulator does not load, click here to view the simulation on the Tinkercad page. Will it produce hi-fidelity music? No!Īs a sneak preview, try out our circuit+code in the Tinkercad simulator. In this lesson, we are going to make a simple five-key piano with tactile buttons wired with internal pull-up resistors and a piezo buzzer. Now, let’s do something fun with this newfound knowledge! But I don’t think you do most clients or yourself any service by using terminology that they don’t understand when the common terms suffice.Ĭonclusion: Our job can (but doesn’t have to) include educating our clients on terminology, and using commonly recognized terms is still good communication. If you have a client who loves the dive into the minutia of terminology, then indulge yourself. Most people will know what you mean when you say, “neutral wire” and will stare into space as you describe “grounded conductor” and “grounding conductor” and will be thinking about dinner by the time you explain that there is no “ground wire.” Ditto for “service equipment” and “main panel,” and never mind the disagreements over “sub-panel.” If you think your job as a HI is to tell everyone how they are using incorrect terminology over and over (like “cinder block” vs. For me, there is plenty of education without trying to change a client’s terminology that isn’t wrong to begin with.įor instance, just because the NEC uses the term “grounded conductor” doesn’t mean describing that as the “neutral” is wrong. That line will be drawn differently for each of us. Each of us find that we draw a line where we end educating and continue to communicate. I’ve heard the argument that we should use correct terminology because part of our job is to educate. The commonly used descriptive term is the “main panel.” Everyone knows what the “main panel” is, including electricians who, in my experience, use the same term. I only read the term in forums like this and code references. I have never…not even once…heard anyone refer to the service equipment as the “service equipment” and that includes the many electricians that I’ve interacted with. For unknown reasons, that might be worthy of investigation by a student of communication, much of the terminology of the NEC has never found common usage among the general public. The second “leg” of our job is communication. So again - don’t use the term “main” for anything related to the electrical system until you have a firm understanding of the difference between service equipment and other equipment. Look at your picture - the neutrals have been properly isolated from the enclosure as this is a “sub” panel. ![]() If the interior panel was actually a main or service panel, the neutrals would have to be bonded to the enclosure and GE. ![]() “Main” and “service” are synonymous, so you can’t have a “ main” in one location and the “service” in another. “Other equipment” consists of everything else - distribution/sub panels, breakers, equipment-disconnects, etc., etc… “Service equipment” is where the “service” disconnect is located. You have “service equipment” and you have “other equipment.” Nothing else exists. Lose the term “main” from your vocabulary - at least until you have a firm understanding of its meaning. ![]() Many have seen me post this in the past, but it seems to be necessary to repost occasionally… I’ve never seen a setup like this before is this allowed. Also outside there were additional circuit breakers under the main. Hi I did an inspection today and noticed a 200 main disconnect outside and the service panel inside was 150 amp. ![]() |
